Subject: KStep question
Can a KStep be added to an existing Kanalog-KFlop-SnapAmp? I'm using the 4 channels on the SnapAmp for X,Y,Z,and tool changer. I would like to add 2 stepper channels for a 4th and 5th axis trunion. Can the channels on the KStep be twinned to double the amperage? ( Nema 42 double stack ).

Hi Todd,

Kanalog requires to be connected via KFLOP JP7.  It also can optionally use JP5 as Encoder inputs.  KSTEP can be connected to JP7 or JP5.   So it would be possible to connect KSTEP to JP5 (The Kanalog JP2 differential inputs will not be avaialble).  You must than provide +5V, GND, and Enable into KSTEP J6.  KSTEP IO on J33 would not be functional.

That would be the first KFLOP+SnapAmp+Kanalog+KSTEP system that I'm aware of.  You might be better just add two 3rd part step/dir drives if you need higher current.  And drive them from KFLOP JP5 Step/Dir Outputs.

No you can not parallel KSTEP outputs for higher current.
